At The Hometown Veterinarian, we accept multiple forms of payment, including major credit cards, cash, and personal checks. While we do expect payment at the time of service, we also understand that alternative payment options may sometimes be needed.
We are happy to provide several solutions to help manage the cost of your pet’s care.
Scratch Pay
Scratchpay offers short-term loans through a quick and easy online application. The process is fast and simple, and applying does not affect your credit score. This option is ideal for sudden veterinary expenses such as surgery or the treatment of an unexpected illness.
CareCredit
CareCredit is a health and wellness credit card that has flexible financing options so you can pay over time. CareCredit works well for sudden expenses but is also then available to cover ongoing or future expenses.
PetDesk App & CareCredit Access
Yep, we've got an app for that! To make things even easier, you can apply for CareCredit directly through our PetDesk app. The app also allows you to keep track of your pet’s medical records, request prescription refills, schedule appointments, and more—all in one convenient place.
Add the PetDesk app to your mobile device to keep track of your pet's records, schedule appointments, and more!
Pet Insurance
Another option to help manage the cost of veterinary care is pet insurance. Pet insurance has been a very good option for many of our clients, giving them peace of mind when unexpected veterinary expenses arise.
Pet insurance plans vary widely—some focus on covering major expenses such as accidents, illnesses, or surgery, while others also include routine wellness care like annual exams, vaccines, and preventive testing. Most plans work on a reimbursement basis: you pay for services at the time of your visit, then submit your claim to the insurance provider for repayment.
Because coverage and costs can differ, we encourage you to research and compare options to find the best fit for your pet and your budget. A helpful place to start is Pet Insurance Review, which allows you to compare companies and policies side by side.
